This clamp is only compatible with the 4225A and 4425A scopes. It will not work with a previous generation 4225 or 4425. It would also not be ideal of relative compression as most vehicles will pull 150-200 amps during cranking.
The Pico TA167 High Current amp probe is the best option. It will cover up to 2000 amps and has a switchable setting for under 200amps.

You could also consider thet 07-600 current amp clamp. It does not have a switchable range, but will work great for relative compression.
