It could, but it is not the best option.
The jaw size is small (0.375in/9.5mm) so you cannot the clamp around most battery cables. The banana plug design also creates more noise than a BNC probe. This may be unavoidable depending on your equipment.
Here are some amp clamps that might be better for parasitic draw:
Larger Jaw (1/2"in) - similar accuracy and noise to the 07-60
Large Jaw, Very Accurate, but uses BNC - would need a banana to BNC-F adapter for Snap On or mutlimeters.
Large Jaw, Stand alone clamp
