Cam and crankshaft sensor

I would like to know to properly use my U Scope to measure the 5 volt square wave pattern on a camshaft sensor. I am able to get readings on my U Scope when the engine will start and run. But I am having trouble getting a reading on a camshaft or crankshaft sensor during cranking.

I would be will to pay for training or purchase an material that might help me.

I am grateful to own this tool and want to learn to use the tool more effectively. I you would have any suggestions please let me know.

For a 5v signal set the uScope at:
Volts: 1v div

Time: Start with 50ms (to see more detail go to 20ms, to see less detail: 100ms)

Trigger: Normal

Trigger Level: 3 volts (increase to 4.5v to 4.8v if you suspect signal is falling below 5v)

Trigger Slope: Rising edge (Arrow pointing up)
