Is scan tool the only way to perform coding? What model cars require coding.

Thank you for your response concerning coding. I am grateful. Is a scan tool the only way to perform the coding procedure or can you code using a pass through device? I am interested in purchasing a MS906, I am concerned if I purchase a MS906 and a pass through programming device I will not be able to perform a coding procedure.

A scan tool is required for coding, Most commonly used on Euros.

Autel says the ms906 will do coding and is not compatible with the Autel MaxiFlash J-box.

For coding: MaxiSYS Pro (AES# ATL-MS908P).
