The Autel MaxiSys line covers 1996-current (-6 months).

Many OBD-2 compatible vehicles from 96-2002 still included their proprietary (OBD-1) connector their vehicles.
These vehicles typically only provide emission data via the OBD-2 connector. The proprietary (OBD-1) connector is needed to perform non-emissions scan tool data, functions, etc...
