with my pico 4425 and the attenuator,do I really need this differential probe. please educate me. thanks

Use a differential probe when you want live measurements off the 3-phases of an electric motor, like those used on hybrid vehicles.

Use the attenuator for live measurement that will exceed the scope's maximum input voltage, for the Pico 4425 that is 200 V.

So, if you are not planning on capturing a waveform from AC signals, specifically 3-phase, you do not need the differential probe.
