Do I need to have a insulated BNC connector to hook up to my Rigol DS1054Z oscilliscope?

A high quality metal BNC will be best unless you have an application where you do not want any grounded metal exposed.
If you do not want any grounded metal exposed then you would want an insulated BNC.
We can customize this adapter and use an insulated BNC instead of a metal BNC.
