To see secondary waveforms you need the AES# Secondary Pickup (Capacitive) and to connect to a microprocessor you will need the AES# 01-14 Trigger Pickup (Inductive) that is connected to a CMOS device that will transform the signal into TTL levels. The CMOS will act as a buffer to protect the uP and will allow a higher voltage on the input while allowing for a TTL level output.

You might be able to connect the 01-14 to the uP analog input, but that depends on your device's specs.
