“Error Code 1” means that the detector cannot see sufficient light in the sample cell.
That could mean that the sample cell is dirty or wet or both. If a you turn the ATS Emission off too soon after removing the probe from the tailpipe there will be water vapor in the instrument that will condense out and leave droplets on the sample cell window. The sample cell can be cleaned. Let us know if you need details on how to do this.
It could also mean a failure of the Infrared Source, the Detector or another related component which would require returning the instrument to ATS for repair.
